Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden

The sculpture garden is situated in a secluded valley at the foot of the Surrey hills. It was founded by Hannah Peschar twenty years ago and has been developed by her and her husband, landscape designer Anthony Paul. The ten acre site holds an ever changing display of work from over 100 artists mainly from Europe and the UK. “The fusion of Hannah Peschar’s artistic sensibilities and curatorial skills together with Anthony Paul’s landscape designs makes for a stunning collaboration with both art and nature.” -hannah peschar sculpture

Originally from New Zealand, Anthony Paul has brought many exotic and broad leaved species of plants to the landscape. The sculptures can be admired from many different angles across the garden due to the architectural levels throughout the landscape. Open spaces contrast with densely planted and more intimate wooded areas, creating a more stimulating environment for the viewer. Meandering pathways weave between calm pools and lively streams, leading the visitor through areas of tranquillity followed by those of energy.

The garden uses a bold planting designs, streams and ponds to offset the sculptures. The tall grasses and broad leaved plants prove to be a dramatic backdrop for a variety of sculptures in wood, metal, glass and stone.
