Piccadilly Gardens – Tadao Ando

Piccadilly Gardens is one of Manchester’s largest open inner city green spaces. The square is currently the central hub of Manchester’s public transport system.

During the winter an ice skating rink is placed in the square and during the summer a series of fountains fill the space. Unfortunately, during my visit the gardens were undergoing the transitional period between the winter and summer, with the grass areas only just being planted up and neither fountains or ice rink to be seen.
